Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government which works on the principle “Jo Kahaa So Kiyaa”, Now fulfills one more promise. Arvind Kejriwal promised the common man of Delhi that if they form Government in Delhi, they will install CCTV cameras in DTC and Cluster buses. AAP Government is now going to fulfill its promise of Women security by installing 6350 CCTV cameras in DTC and Cluster buses.
In 2015-16, Delhi Government sent a proposal to Central Government to install CCTV cameras in DTC and Cluster buses out of Nirbhaya Fund.
On 20 June 2017, Delhi cabinet approved the proposal to install CCTV cameras costing Rs.140 crore out of Nirbhaya Fund, that will be borne by the Centre. Three IP CCTV cameras with latest technology, will be installed in each bus. The installation and maintenance will be for 5 years. This shows that Arvind Kejriwal walks the talks.
AAP Government’s aim of installing CCTV cameras in DTC and Cluster buses aims to instill a sense of security in the minds of women commuters, and to make sure of their safe travel in public service buses.
A pilot project was done by AAP ruled Delhi Government. After successful pilot of 200 CCTV Cameras on Sarojni Nagar and Rajghat buses, 6350 buses will now be installed in all buses in Delhi.
