As the Social Media outrage at stalking the daughter of a senior IAS officer by son of a Harayana BJP leader is yet to simmer, a news of fresh trouble broke out for another BJP leader in UP.
A BJP leaders son killed a 17 year old teen girl by slitting her throat multiple times on full public view on a crowded street in Uttar Pradesh.
The victim Ragini Dubey, a Class XII student was heading to her school accompanied by her younger sister 8-Aug when the event took place.
Ragini and her sister Siya were cycling to Sanskar harti School in Salempur a block away from their home in Bajahn village, when Prince Tiwari and his accomplice Sonu tiwari, mowed down the cycle with his motorbike on the busy Bansdih street. Prince then dragged Ragini to middle of street before stabbing the victim multiple times.
“We fell off our cycle. Prince dragged my sister to the middle of the road, took out a knife and repeatedly slashed her throat. There were a lot of people on the street but none dared offer any help” Reported Telegraph
Prince Tiwari, is son of Kripashankar Tiwari a local panchayat chief and BJP leader. Prince a school dropout and unemployed, has been detained along with Raju Yaday, a collaborator.
According to Ragini’s family Prince made several advances to marry her, but she rejected his ideas as she aspired to study medicine and become a doctor. However, Prince didn’t relent at his rejection and continued to harass Ragini for the past four months.
The accused was a known habitual offender in the now-dissolved “anti-Romeo” squad in UP and had formerly been detained for stalking the same girl prior to being let off with a warning.
Jitendra, who has five children, said he had complained to Kripashankar about Prince in March but the father took no steps to rein him in. In March, Jitendra had approached policemen who were members of the local anti-Romeo squad.
According to Ragini’s mother Prince stalked her daughter for several months and used to pass of lewd comments.
Ragini’s father, farmer Jitendra dubey, has named 5 people in their Police FIR. Prince, Kripashankar, Sonu and Prince’s accomplices Niraj and Raju Tiwari in the Police chargesheet.
An FIR has been filed against the village pradhan, his son, his nephew, and two others of the village who are among the accused, the SP said.
Prince has been arrested, along with accomplice Raju Yadav. However, the victim’s father, Jitendra, has alleged that all five accused were present in the village for several hours after the crime and bragged themselves of being untouchable by the law. “Had the police acted fast, all of them could have been arrested,” he said.
The hashtag #JusticforRagini picked off with many questioning the lack of coverage in the national media as the victim belong to poor background.
